Welcome to another issue of the "Your Journey
to Freedom" newsletter.

Well another very hectic week has passed and it has been
very interesting to say the least. I still haven't been
able to catch up from my disaster that I mentioned about
last week regarding the little "short cut" that I took with
my website.

miss out on this as there is a very important lesson to be
learnt and hopefully you can learn from my mistake… and it
won't cost you anything.

On another note, unfortunately my fathers sister passed
away during the week and I have been making all the
necessary arrangements on behalf of my father to ease his
burden.

Now all I can say is… if you haven't organised your
affairs in preparation of your passing, then do it now. I
know it's not a very pleasant issue, but it's non the less
very important to ensure that all the relevant paper work
is in order.

Anyway, time to move on and continue our discussions from
last week.

How to Build Your Opt In Email List?

Last week you learnt that there were two major steps to
starting an internet business and to make money online.

1. Create a website
2. Build an opt in email list.

We discussed the first step of creating a website using
Site Build It! and Neil Shearing's Private Site. If you

Today you will learn how to implement major step number
two, "build an opt in email list".

Firstly… what is an opt in email list?

An opt in email list is a list of potential customers who
have given you their permission to receive your email
messages. Your messages may include website updates,
product updates, a fr*e ecourse or an ezine.

Some marketers require you to double opt in to ensure that
you are fully aware that you are subscribing to their
articles or reports. You may remember, that you would have
had to double opt in to my list to receive this newsletter.

It has become increasingly important that marketers
protect themselves against Spam complaints by requesting
their subscribers double opt in and I suggest that when you
develop your list, you do the same.

You may be asking yourself… why do I need to build an opt
in email list?

Did you know that less than 2% of your visitors will buy
straight from your website on their first visit. Yep…
that's right! On average, 98% of your visitors will give
you the flick on their first visit to your website. (the
cheeky buggers)

Most of you visitors will just leave your website without
buying a single thing. Yes, I know! You worked hard to
increase your website traffic and your visitors haven't
even had the decency to buy a single solitary thing from
your website. How dare they do this!

Hey, no one said it was going to be easy!

But, don't start tearing your hair out just yet. There is
an easier way.

By increasing your opt in email list and contacting them
after they leave your website, you can increase your sales
by up to 80%, which can lead to up to 500% of extra profits.

Now I don't know about you, but this works for me! Hey,
you little snapper… break out the bubbly!

This is why it is absolutely imperative to get your
website visitors to subscribe to your opt in email list as
soon as you possible can, so that you can follow up with
them at a later stage.

Think about it. If you don't build an opt in email list,
you might get one or two sales from your website for every
100 visitors. That's if you're lucky!

But, with carefully thought out methods to capture your
visitors details you can build your opt in email list to a
sizable number so you can follow-up with them at a later
stage. Crikey you may even be able to increase your sales
to three or four sales from the same number of visitors.

You may also make a further two or three sales from those
same 100 visitors at a later date using backend offers
promoting your favorite affiliate programs or services.
That's up to an extra seven sales per 100 visitors, all
because you were able to make further contact with them
using your opt in email list.

Now I don't know about you, but I reckon that's gotta be
better than a poke in the eye with a forked stick!

To help explain the importance of your opt in email list,
lets take this example one step further.

Let's say your average profit from every sale you make is
$20, all of a sudden you've increased your profit from $20
to a whopping $160 per hundred visitors, ie the initial
sale plus the extra seven sales. If you have 1,000
potential customers visiting your website every month, you
could be increasing your profits from $200 per month to a
mind boggling $1,600 per month.

Now imagine the money you could make online if you could
increase website traffic to 100,000 visitors per year,
which is not all that difficult.

Using the above example of eight sales per 100 visitors,
you could expect to make a total of 8,000 sales per year.
Heck… this equates to $160,000 per year. ($20 x 8,000).

WOW, talk about blow your mind! You've gone from chicken
feed to fillet mignon in one foul (fowl <grin>) swoop, and
it's all because you captured the email addresses of your
visitors.

So… how in the heck do you build an opt in email list?

The secret to building an opt in email list is to give
your visitors an incentive to entice them to join your
list. Once they do this you can contact them on a regular
basis with important information that helps them achieve
their goals. This also gives you an opportunity to offer
them an opportunity to benefit from your backend affiliate
programs.

emails to see if they will pass through many of today's
Spam filters. You simply send your email and you will
receive a reply detailing the problems it may encounter
with certain Spam filters and how to fix them. Be sure to
