Does anybody now where has January gone? Apparently
it's gone missing... well it did for me anyway ;o)

I can't believe that one month of the year has
disappeared already! Before you know it, it'll be another
year gone and we'll all be wondering what we did (or didn't
do) in 2004 to make a better life for ourselves.

This got me thinking… what have I done in the last
month to build my online business?

If you haven't already... you should be asking yourself
the same question!

Now you need to be completely honest with yourself with
your answer. Dig deep and ask yourself... What have YOU done
in the last 30 days to build your business? Have you
actually done anything to start building your online
business?

If you haven't... don't you think it's about time you
did?

Isn't it time you started to implement some of those
New Year resolutions you made about building an online
business in 2004?

Isn't it about time you started to earn a little extra
spare cash to help pay the bills or to save up for that
special holiday?

If you're deadly serious about building your online
business, then now is the perfect time to do something
about it. Implement the steps that you'll learn in this
week's Feature Article and you may be well on your way to
achieving your dreams!

Don't fall for the trap of saying… "I'll get started
next week", before you know it another year will have
passed and you may still be in the same position you are
now!

I guarantee that if you implement the strategies that

How to Craft a Subscriber Sucking Capture Page

What I'm about to tell you is extremely important, and
you need to completely understand the implications of this
information will form the basis of any successful capture
page or sales letter you ever write.

What you have to understand is that 98% of people
purchase products on emotion and then justify their
purchase with logic. In other words they buy something
because the WANT to (emotional), not because they need to!
(logical)

Here's a very simplistic example of what I mean:

Think about the last time you bought a bottle of soda.
I'm sure you justified your decision to by the soda with
the logic that you were thirsty and that you NEEDED a
drink.

In REALITY, you bought the soda because you liked the
taste of it (emotional), so you justified your decision by
saying that you were thirsty. You could have easily had a
drink of water, which would have been the LOGICAL thing to
do... right!

Get the picture!

So... to get the attention of your visitors, your capture
page must have compelling copy that targets their emotions.
And in order to get them to subscribe, you need to be able
to answer any questions they may have. In other words… you
need to walk a mile with the crowd!

- What is it they are seeking?
- What do they want to know?
- What did they come to your site to learn?
- If you were your visitor, what would you want to know?
- What are the main benefits that they will receive?
- How can you help them to achieve their dreams and
desires?

Now... you only have approximately 8 seconds to convince
your visitor to read your copy, after this time your
visitor will happily click away from your site, which will
more than likely be to one of your competitors sites.

So, once you have identified WHO it is that you are
targeting and WHAT it is they desire, you need to create a
compelling headline that clearly identifies your NUMBER ONE
benefit so that it grabs the attention of your visitors and
virtually forces them to read the rest of your copy.

Once you have crafted your headline, you need to
briefly explain the benefits of your ezine, report or
ecourse to entice your visitors to opt in to your list. You
can do this by writing down ALL the benefits of your
publication/product in dot point form.

Then select 6 - 10 of your best points and write a
brief summary on each point. Remember... you need to target
the emotions of your visitors by identifying their problems
and explaining how you can help them ease their pain and
achieve their desires.

By the way... don't offer FR.EE bonuses to entice your
visitors to signup. You don't want fr.eebie seekers, as
they will never buy anything from you. You only want highly
targeted responsive people who are genuinely interested in
what you have to offer.

Once you have done this, upload the page to your
website, rename it as your index page and then start
driving targeted traffic to it and start building your
"money train".

To help you get started, here are a few examples of
some GREAT capture pages that have no other purpose except
to capture the visitors details by enticing them to optin
to an email list. The ad copy almost FORCE'S the visitor to
sign up to whatever they are selling.

(You don't need to signup, just use some of their
ideas, but don't copy them exactly… otherwise you may get
into hot water)

- Summary -

In summary here are the three KEY steps you need to
follow to create a subscriber sucking capture page:

1 - Your number one priority on your website is to
obtain the contact details of your visitors. The simplest
way to do this is to create a capture page that asks your
visitors to complete a form that places them on your email
list.

2 - You only have 8 seconds to convince your visitors
to stay on your site. So you need to have a compelling
headline to encourage your visitors to remain on you page.

3 - List the benefits of your ezine, report or ecourse
so that it tugs at the emotions of your visitors to entice
them to sign up to your opt in email list.

Now that you have learnt the importance of building
your opt in email list to increase your sales and profits,
next week we will focus other methods that will
significantly increase the size of your email list in
double quick time.
