Tools to Crush Your Competition

Online
someone wins and someone loses. It's just a fact of
life.
When someone spends their mone.y with
me and not my
competitors, I win and my competitors lose. If the
opposite happens, I lose.
In this article I am going to show you
two tools that will:
1. Help you know exactly who is BEATABLE
among your
competition
2. Allow you to see exactly what it will
take to beat them
3. Give you a solid plan for getting it
done
Knowing Who You Can Beat
There are several steps to finding out
which of your
competitors you need to beat. It is a multi-step (but
simple) process:
1. Generate a list of your best keywords
This can be done simply by describing
your product and
guessing at the best words and phrases to describe it,
or
by using a tool like this one:

This f.ree tool will help you see keywords
and related
keywords as well as the volume of searches each one
generates online.
Once you have your best list of keywords...
2. See who ranks highly for those keywords
in Google
Instead of going right to Google, use
this tool:

(You'll have to be patient-it takes a
little while to pull
up the results...) Once you get there, take the first
result and see how many people are linking to that site
using the link beneath it entitled "view inbound
links".
This will show you how many other pages
link to the top
page, and the page rank of those pages. The lower the
number of links and the lower the overall page rank of
the
links, the simpler it is to beat them. The higher those
numbers, the harder it will be to beat them.
What It Will Take to Beat Them
Once you have looked at number one, make
a decision-can
you beat them? 20 incoming links, all of a fairly low
page
rank are pretty beatable. 2,000 is tougher.
If you don't think so, then take a look
at number two and
so on.
What you are most likely to find is this:
There are several medium traffic keywords
where you can
get a solid 1,2 or 3 Google position. Some of your higher
traffic keywords will require you to hit it much harder
and
take longer.
Your Plan of Attack
Now, here is your plan of attack...
For every keyword phrase you wish to score
highly on
Google, you will need two things:
(1) A page on your website where the keyword
phrase appears
early and often.
(2) Links to that page from other web pages using the
keyword phrase in the link
text.
While that is a simple view of a more
complex procedure,
that is your overall plan: Get links to an optimized page.

Open
a Link in a New Window

Here is an easy way to open a browser
in a new window with
JavaScript. You might find it convenient to use something
like the "target" attribute; however, this attribute
is
deprecated and shouldn't be used. Unlike the target
attribute, you can specify the width and height of the
window you are opening using the following method.

('http://www.bravenet.com','Bravenet.com',
'width=200,height=200')">Open a New Window</a>
Customize the Script for Your Site:
=> In the code above, you will notice
that there is a URL
defined as http://www.bravenet.com. Replace that URL with
the address of the page that you would like to open.
=> You will notice width=200. Replace "200"
with the width
size, in pixels, that you would like the new window to
be.
=> height=200. As with the width, you
can set the height of
the new window here by replacing the "200" with
your
desired height.
=> Replace "Open a New Window" with the text
that you would
like your visitors to click on in order to open the new
window.
Once the code is edited, you can place
it anywhere in the
body of your webpage. This code can be very helpful if
you
want to open a small window for something such as an image
gallery.
